Chamber awards Businesses of the Year

January 31, 2011
The St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce recognized the 2010 Businesses of the Year during the organization's 27th annual dinner held Saturday evening at the Red Fern. Northwest Savings Bank and The Elk County Community Foundation took home top honors in the large and small business categories, respectively.

New Fund Established to Support Autism Center

Dickinson Center, Inc. recently established an endowment fund with the Elk County Community Foundation. The Autism Program for Children with Dickinson Center, Inc. Fund was established to provide for the program’s future financial security.

St. Marys Little League Softball Receives Grant

May 25, 2011
In conjunction with the kickoff of their season this morning, the St. Marys Girls' Softball Little League also recently received a $15,000 grant to provide much-needed repairs to the Benzinger Park softball fields where their games take place. The league plans to use the funding to replace the backstops on each field.

Foundation makes Grant to St. Marys Public Library

Elk County Community Foundation gives Grant to St. Marys Public Library to be used for the Summer Reading Program. Representatives of the Saint Marys Public Library and the Elk County Community Foundation met recently to review and give funding for the popular summer reading program held at the Library each summer.

ECCF Elects New Board Officers

Elk County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the election of the new Board Officers. Serving the Foundation as President, Mr. Daniel Straub, with Vice President being Don Valone. J. Hamlin Johnson will continue as Treasurer and Richard Smith will serve as Secretary.

2011 Scholarship Winners

The Elk County Community Foundation awarded a total of 83 scholarships to local students this year totaling $77,225 in scholarship funds. Graduating seniors from Elk County Catholic, St. Marys Area, Johnsonburg Area, Ridgway Area, Brockway Area, Dubois Area, and Kane Area were the recipients of these scholarships.
