Community Foundation of North Central Pennsylvania
During the 1990's a group of business and civic leaders worked together to explore the establishment of a Community Foundation in the Elk County Area. After thorough research the Elk County Community Foundation (ECCF) was incorporated in 2000 and a year later was classified as a non-profit organization. The IRS conferred a tax-exempt status to the Community Foundation in the form of a 501 (c)(3).
In 2010, the Community Foundation of North Central PA (CFNC) was established to enable discussion in neighboring counties and communities that have not been served by a community foundation within their area. The CFNC is a parent organization to ECCF and other potential communities that would want to serve the philanthropic needs in their county, borough, or even township. The board and staff of CFNC continue to look for opportunities to serve areas that border Elk County. If you would like to inquire about establishing a community foundation in your area please contact us.
By sharing financial resources through a charitable gift to a community foundation you can support the arts, enrich education, protect the environment, provide human services, safeguard health, foster a stronger community...and more! Everyone can be a philanthropist though a Community Foundation and help meet the charitable needs of our community for generations to come.
The mission of the Community Foundation of North Central Pennsylvania and the Elk County Community Foundation is to strengthen our region through development, stewardship and grant making as donors achieve their philanthropic goals. Our vision is to connect people who care with causes that matter. For more information contact the CFNC/ECCF office at 814-834-2125.
